ABlyth Smart Phone Wallet, Art Series: Poem of a Cacophonous City, Explane
Poem of a Cacophonous City is an art project that aims to show the noise and clutter of modern cities. This 2011 project, based on Picasso’s experiments with film photography. My 2011 project, once publicised on the internet, re-ignited the double-exposure genre of photography that is still popular today. All photos in this project were taken on film, and have not undergone any significant digital manipulation.
The Chinese characters (kanji) "不協和音" literally translates to "cacophony" in English. However, the actual English language title is "Explane", being a play on the words 'former plain', which is where the city of Nagoya is currently built on. The photo represents the past and present of this geographical location. For more information on this series, see the blog https://japanesephotos.asia/blog/tag/cacophonous/
